Suzuki SV650 old v new: long distance

Is the new SV650 a match for the old one on longer rides? Um, no.

I also did a 3 hour ride on an sv. I enjoyed every minute of it, it was cold and misty and I was running it in. 3 hours to first service...180 miles. Travelled very similar roads to this tale. B roads, A and motorways. After it passed 500 miles and I could use more revs it was even more fun.

However my problem is that you are not comparing like for like. Sv replaces gladius....there is no comparison between faired and unfaired when on any sustained speed journey. So, a real comparison for the 5k sv650s is another half faired 500-800cc bike.
Or, you could compare the new sv to the mt10 (they're both naked! )

I agree with Steve, I bought a new SV and the seat is thinly padded and uncomfortable after an hour or so. I get a bit more range, approx 200 miles, but I've yet to use it in one hit. Overall, a great little bike but I'll be looking to do something with the seat longer term.
