Watch Marquez be outrageous (again), reveals 65˚ lean isn’t intended

Marc Marquez gets super casual at full lean during the Czech Republic MotoGP but the man himsef is less impressed by his regular 65-degree dips than we are

WATCHING Marc Marquez at full speed, full beans and full lean is surely the equivalent of a motorbiking ‘wonder of the world’

Visually breathtaking, mentally bewildering, universally applauded, Marquez on a lean limit defies physics and sends social media into a frenzy.

To date Marquez has regularly dipped his Repsol Honda to a 65-degree angle, though he has been recorded pushing it to a remarkable 66 degrees – he is the Sergey Bubka of bikers.

With six wins from ten races so far this season, one could not blame the Spaniard to be brimming with confidence but even this latest example of his sheer effortlessness on the Honda RC213V leaves us shaking our head in a wry ‘WTF?’

Casual…

Looks spectacular but is 65 degrees really the quickest way to go?

However, the man himself says the eye-catching figures aren’t something he targets and in many ways he doesn’t understand why it requires such an aggressive turn in to get the most from the RC213V.

His comments appear to give some credence to the response from Cal Crutchlow, who rides the same specification Honda for the LCR team, that only Marquez is able to ride it so fast because it requires such an extreme riding style to get the best from it.

“We are trying to work on that area, trying to stress less the front tyre, trying to understand why we need to lean so much, this 65 degrees that sometimes I lean this season,” he told sister publication Crash.net.

“And it's there that we are working more to try to understand in the future, because if you can turn more with the same speed and less lean angle, then the grip is better. But we are trying to analyse.”

If it’s a head-scratcher for Marquez, it’s just pure fun for us so here it is again…
