BRITISH firm Herald showcased two new 450cc models at last week’s Motorcycle Live show including this scrambler priced at £4,750 on the road.

It’s got a Chinese-made aluminium frame and liquid-cooled 449cc single-cylinder engine making a claimed 44hp at 7,500rpm and 31lbft at 6,500rpm.

Dry weight is 130kg and claimed top speed 110mph.

The seat height is 780mm and the fuel capacity 14 litres.

Herald Sales Manager Michael Fish said the sub-frame was still in development.

It was displayed at Motorcycle Live at Birmingham’s NEC alongside another liquid-cooled 450 single featuring more contemporary, aggressive styling. Called the Rottweiler, it’s described by Herald as ‘an aggressive street-styled naked bike’ with a ‘motocross derived set-up, class-leading throttle response and middleweight fast turning agility’.

It’s also said to make 44hp. Price is subject to individual customer specifications, the firm said.

Cambridgeshire-based Herald’s current rage consists of low-priced retro-styled 125s and 250s.

It’s not the first time the firm has promised us a bigger-capacity model. Two years ago, also at Motorcycle Live, Herald’s stand featured a 500cc café racer called the Super Classic, which we were told was scheduled for production in 2015. Fish said the plans had been shelved.
