Army to showcase motorcycling opportunities at Motorsports Day

While the White Helmets may be no more, there's still plenty of two-wheeled action in the Army

Army to showcase motorcycling opportunities at Motorsports Day

RIDING a motorcycle takes daring, endurance and a need for adrenaline – all traits which the British Army promotes and nurtures.

So it’s little surprise that motorcycling features so heavily among the force’s motorsport program, with official teams competing in road racing, adventure, enduro and trials series around the world.

And next month you can get a closer look at exactly what the army gets up to on two wheels, when they open the gates of MOD Lyneham for the official Army Motorsport Day.

The annual event, which was formerly known as the Festival of Army Motorsport (FoAM), will take place from 1pm on Wednesday 12 September. It is open to serving and former members of the Army, as well as the general public.

The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the motorsport opportunities in the forces.
