‘Go Directly To Jail’ top speed

Our Review

Reviewed: 25 June 2009 by Visordown
Agile hyper-tourer, with build quality to match outrageous performance and ‘Go Directly To Jail’ top speed. VTEC and other updates planned for ’05. Launched at the end of 1996, the bike was lauded as being a technical tour-de-force before quietly slipping behind the times as Suzuki's Hayabusa and then Kawasaki's ZX-12R ...  Continue reading

I love this bike and hope to keep her for many years to come. It does everything I need her to. Long hauls for pleasure and work, weekend jaunts with mates round the twisties, it does it all with ease.

I'd recommend to anyone looking for the ultimate all-rounder. I'd recommend giving one to me even more though. Continue reading...
Nobody has yet built a better all rounder. My current bird has a complete 4-1 Akrapovic exhaust set up on the dyno, a Hagon shock, and the forks have been re worked. The brakes have also been de-linked. It has Continue reading...

Loved the 'Bird, and enjoyed every mile of the 18,000 or so in the six years I had it. Put it in part-ex for a - wait for it - Deauville (yes, really) which is a great little tourer, but still miss the 'Bird. Continue reading...

 In the past 10 years i have had 3 ducati's 748,749,749s, 3 kawasaki's 600 zzr 636,and Z750, 2 suzuki SV 's yamaha FZ1000, thunder cat , cbr 600 ,and the awsome 750 MV Agusta,

And now to my collection a black 1997 blackbird with 18000miles on the clock, with out any problem the MV Agusta is by far the most georgious bike ive had , but the big blackbird has it all, It is good looken, and as far as power goes FECK it is quick ,

Arround the town it is brill no need for any over reving, and most off all, down the coast road it is brill, i thought it was gonna be a heavy beast far from it, it handles really good , and when there comes a bit of a straight Feck your at the end of it. The only other bike i had would give it a run down the coast road was my RSV aprilia.

aaaah i must aggree lad' owning a 2002 xx  and over 50 bikes in my time, at age 56 by far the best all arounder gotta be the xx, sooo fast , powerfull, smooth, rde all dayer, can;t get any better' not even my former busa'zzr1200'zx12r,rc51,ect. ect. sure the busa' zx12r a bit faster but on paper only sure don't feel it in the pants, and none come close to the overall function of the xx, HONDA?, what about a 2013,14, cbr1300xx with about 175 hp. and 100 ft. pounds rear wheel?!. little suspention upgrade' don't touch the body for it's gotta be one of the most preety biks ever built. just a sweetheart. i giva this bird a big 5 star for sure.        bird watcher

I also have a 1997 Black CBR 1100 XX and took it out this weekend after putting new tires and changing all the fluids. The bike is a blast to ride along with my 2004 CBR 1000 RR and 1991 CBR 1000 F. The Blackbird will always be one of my favorites!

Bought my 99 Fi Bird in April thinking i'm 2 old for a sportsbike and 2 young for a tourer, Well what can i say! What a Tool, it's superb, Stable, handles well N Boy is it FAST, build quality is very good, just a wash and it comes up like new, would recommend one to any experienced rider.

I love 'em, on my third one now. Great two up, with the traditional dual seat. Eats the miles with comfort.
