Rory Skinner is back in the British Superbike Championship for 2024, alongside Davey Todd in a new-look TAS Racing BMW squad.

The Northern Irish team retains its one-bike BSB for the upcoming season, with Skinner aboard the BMW M 1000 RR Superbike after spending a year in the Moto2 World Championship last year.

The signing of Marcos Ramirez to the American Racing team in Moto2 at the end of last year left Skinner without a seat in the World Championship, and a return to BSB became a possibility, along with a switch to the Moto2 European Championship. Evidently, Skinner decided in favour of BSB and TAS Racing.

Davey Todd, who became the team’s BSB rider in the second half of 2023 after signing up for a 2024 road racing campaign and then being drafted into Danny Buchan’s seat due to the #83’s concussion woes, drops back to the National Superstock class in 2024, a category he was champion of in 2022.

The TAS squad also switches up its look in 2024, ending its four-season partnership with Synetiq to bring in Cheshire Mouldings - which was previously seen on the FS-3 Kawasaki team - as title sponsor. Visually, it mostly means a lighter shade of blue, while the deeper blue, red, and white of BMW remains around the tank and on the tail unit.

On his announcement with the Cheshire Mouldings BMW Motorrad team, Rory Skinner said: “I’m really looking forward to getting started with the Cheshire Mouldings by TAS Racing BMW team. The crew that Philip Neill has put together for me is very exciting, and to be able to bring my crew chief Stuart Shenton from Grand Prix is a major plus.

“Seeing the bikes for the first time at the launch just made it feel that bit more real, and I’m sure everyone will agree, they look absolutely superb. It’s going to be an exciting season coming back to BSB and being able to race in front of the British fans is always very special. I can’t wait to get underway.”

Davey Todd added: “I’m really looking forward to the season ahead with TAS Racing on the Cheshire Mouldings BMW M1000RR in the National Superstock class. Yes of course there was the initial disappointment of having to forego the opportunity of riding in BSB, but I understand the commercial decision and will now be giving my all to put in a strong title challenge in the class. I’m sure Rory and I will enjoy working together in the TAS garage and I’m just looking forward to getting on track and putting some miles in.”
