Yamaha MT-07 Tracer revealed

Yamaha MT-07 Tracer caught on test in Milan

YAMAHA is set to launch a Tracer edition of the MT-07, as revealed in this picture of the machine caught on test in Milan, Italy.

Like the MT-09 Tracer to the naked MT-09, the MT-07 Tracer will be a touring version of the naked MT-07, with a half-fairing and adjustable tall screen.

The bike spotted also had panniers, a rack with a plate for top box and higher bars than the MT-07.

The MT-07’s separate rider and pillion seat have been replaced with a more comfortable-looking single unit and the pillion’s pegs appear to have been lowered to increase leg room.

The MT-07 Tracer is expected to be a 2016 model.

The pictures were published first on Italian bike site Moto.it.

A Yamaha source said: ‘It's not rocket science. Yamaha has always said the MT-07 was a platform and other derivatives were coming.’

He said the parallel-twin configuration and 689cc capacity were chosen for their suitability to a range of applications.

A Yamaha spokesman said of the MT-07 Tracer: ‘We’re not denying it but we’re also not confirming it.’

Visordown recently exclusively revealed that a custom-style edition of the MT-07 was due to be unveiled in mid-July.
