Triumph has announced a new range of colours across its modern classics range, in addition to the renaming of the Street Twin and Street Scrambler models.

Triumph has officially announced the renaming of some of its models, along with a new range of colours for its modern classics.

A few weeks ago, we reported that Triumph were preparing to rename some of its models, with the “Street” name being removed from its roster. We now have a better idea of what that might look like thanks to the latest announcement from Triumph.

This news confirms that some of the “Street” range will be renamed, but, contrary to what we wrote previously the name will not be disappearing altogether. For example, the Street Triple RS will remain with the “Street” name, but two of Triumph’s modern classics will be changing names.

Specifically, the Street Twin will now be named the Speed Twin 900, and the Street Scrambler will now be called the Scrambler 900. This simplifies Triumph’s naming convention, as the Speed Twin 900 is now directly comparable to the Speed Twin 1200, and the Scrambler 900 is now directly comparable to the Scrambler 1200s (XE and XC).

For the 2023 model year, Triumph is also introducing new colours to its modern classics range. These new colours are in response to the success of last year’s Gold Line Editions, “which responded to customer requests for brighter, more distinctive, more elegant colour options,” across the modern classics range, Triumph says.

Starting with the aforementioned Speed Twin 900, Triumph has introduced a new “Matt Silver Ice” colour, along with the “Matt Ironstone” and “Jet Black” colours; while for the Speed Twin 1200 there is a new “Matt Baja Orange”, to go with the existing “Red Hopper” and “Jet Black” options.

For the Scrambler 900, “Carnival Red & Jet Black” and “Matt Khaki” are brand new, and go along with the “Jet Black” option; while the Scrambler 1200s also get the “Carnival Red & Jet Black” option to go with the existing “Matt Khaki Green & Matt Jet Black” and “Sapphire Black” options.

There are also new colours across the Triumph Bonneville range. The T100 receives the new “Meriden Blue & Tangerine” colour; “Red Hopper” is now available for the Bobber; T120 can now be chosen with “Aegean Blue & Fusion White”; the Speedmaster now comes with “Cordovan Red”; and the T120 Black has been given a second colour option: “Sapphire Black & Matt Sapphire Black”.

Finally, the Thruxton RS is now available in “Competition Green & Silver Ice”.
