Overall Review
The blackbird will cover long distances with ease and still put a smile on your face when you get to the twisties. A bike with almost cult status.
Strengths
hugely powerful engine which is sliky smooth at the same time. Great build quality. comfortable but still with a sporting edge.
Weaknesses
Insurance premiums and running costs are high. getting a bit dated now.

It really is just pack up and go 4-5 thousand miles in 3 weeks ? an absolute doddle .2 up with tent,lilo's swimming cossie,toothbrush and its adriatic with ease .

I love my Blackbird, it's great over distance or around town. Feels solid on the road and handles well. I do find it to be a little thirsty, but it is a big engine. The only issue I've had with mine is that both mirrors started to delaminate. Warranty covered it and dealer said it's very rare in their experience.

Reliable, comfortable and well built compared to other makes I've had.

Thirsty, fiddly to fit a Sat Nav to the bars due to hydraulic clutch reservoir.

just love my bike, she does all I ask and more. me finks the 'Blackbird' is one of the bestest bikes Mr Honda has ever give birth to bless him. she looks liks she's doin' a ton when she's parked up !!! not many bikes can do that

so many for a sports tourer- comfort, power delivery, handlin' for a big bike, stabillity at very high speeds, naughty boy! she loves the roads around northern Spain !!! yabadabadoo

bit greedy on gas when cruizin' over a ton, but dont give a shite, the fun out weighs the wallet if you gets my meanin'

I made a few changes and now the blackbird fits like a glove I've owned it 6 years and before I got it I changed my bikes every year

speed distance and comfort (subject to changing seat and fitting bar risers) as for the linked brakes they are fantastic well up to the job ,although when I fitted braided lines it took me 3 days to bleed the rear caliper

Great long distance machine, but dated now. I never did get used to the brakes so sold mine in 2003 after 30k miles and 2 years ownership. Any potential buyer should test ride the new Busa; it's superb.
Strengths
Great engine Superb long distance machine Build quality although paint on tank was too soft and o/e chain on my old 2001 model was pants.
Weaknesses
Suspension - unadjustable front!!! Limited rear. Ground clearance is a real issue when riding hard. Pegs will touch down and then the fairing scrapes - oops! Early Learning Centre brakes are annoying Weight!
