Overall Review

Im very biased towards my 'little' monster as ive owned it from new, learned to ride properly on it and now have it tuned and exactly as i want it... In a nutshell....its as good as an SV650 (not on paper but in real world it is) and once you can ride it you will be sticking with even the sports 600's till the straights... Ducati ownership is a special club and you certainly feel part of it when u start up your 620 and everyone turns their heads to look at the gorgeous machine it is.. Perfect bike for those who have ridden a 125 and want a comfortable Bigger bike without the madness of the sports bikes..

Strengths

Small frame, low ride height, comfortable riding position and light weight. Amazing sound (especially with termi's) Its a Ducati and the rare enough to feel special.. V twin motor with plenty of torque excellent brakes (even with single disc on dark models) great owners clubs and aftermarket parts

Weaknesses

Not the quickest 600... engine paint WILL peel off within a year... ducati service and parts can be pricey. Electrical gremlins can be common ad expensive to fix. not great for pillion

I still get a little jealous when I see a monster pull up, and would definitely buy another.

Strengths

This was my first bike after passing my test, it handled very well, wasn't too heavy and had a good riding position. It also turned heads whenever I pulled up. I owned it for 2 years and never had any problems whatsoever.

Overall Review

This was going to be raced in desmodue but opted for a 600ss instead, its a great first bigger bike but with limitations, small tank, and exposed in weather

Strengths

Lots of low down torque and a great exhaust note especially on the over-run. New Duc parts are very expensive, but investigation often produces matching parts from diverse sources. Headlight from a BMW, fuel pump from a renault at a fraction of oe bosch parts. Not enough hp(62)to get into trouble.

Weaknesses

Doesn't always fire up!! The electrics are starting to play up, its been ridden through the last 2 winters, and the stand connection is the latest corrosion issue. Odd behavior from the speedo needle suggests further problems. The bars are viby so fingers will tingle after a ride out, got bar ends but maybe need more weight. Riding position can be heavy on the wrists, and no protection from the weather.

Overall Review

I have been riding the bike for 10 months now; it is my first experience with a V-twin and I love it. The power delivery is smooth and the engine pulls all the way from the bottom. The power is sufficient for B and A roads to have fun but experienced riders will find it lackluster on faster roads. Handling is good, however I haven't taken the bike to a tack yet; Monster seems stable enough in the corners and I never had a butt clenching moment mid corner like I did with some other bikes. In city, the suspension does the job, however you will feel bigger potholes and bumps. Oh, and exhaust will scrape if you hit a high enough speed bump. Maintenance is easy enough to do yourself with nothing too complicated for someone with some experience; if you do however take the bike to a dealer, they will charge the shit out of you (because premium brand). All in all, I love my Monster, it may not be the fastest and the best looking (although it is a good looking bike) but it's a monster and it's mine.

Strengths

+ The bike is nimble and easy to steer from side to side + Power easy to control for new riders + Small size makes it good for smaller riders but doesn't feel cramped to me at 6ft + Looks gorgeous and sounds good with stock exhaust

Weaknesses

- Experienced riders will find power lackluster - Expensive parts - Some Ducati dealers can be d***heads (especially to owners of the cheapest model available)
