WSB: Neukirchner set for Brno comeback

Injured German keen to return after shattering foot in Monza smash

IT’S BEEN the best part of two months since the emergency operation to save his foot after an horrific crash at Monza but it now looks like Suzuki rider Max Neukirchner will return to the championship at Brno on July 26.

After a close check-up by Dr. Kupfer the wires that have been holding the shattered bones in place have been taken off from Max Neukirchner's foot.

The Alstare Suzuki rider said: "I could hardly wait to get rid of the wires. Now I can start at last with the training of my right leg. During the last few weeks I have had to reduce the training to my upper part of the body and my left leg. My goal is still to race in Brno again. Brno is one of my favourite tracks and a lot of fans are always there. It is like a second home race for me. Maybe I can go to Imola for testing. I would like to get used to the bike and the race there without any stress."

Imola test start next week, which may be too soon for the recuperating German.
