What's happened to Fabrizio's 1098R?

This picture gives you a clue to as to why Fabrizio's engine was down on power in World Superbikes Nurburgring race two

FABRIZIO had a poor weekend at the Nurburgring, citing rear-wheel grip issues in race one, meaning he had to switch to his second bike for race two.

Fabrizio's race two result was lack-lustre, and Fabrizio commented: "Unfortunately the engine of the second bike didn't perform as it should, as it seemed as I was missing acceleration coming out of the corners, meaning it was impossible to stick with the group ahead of me. It can only go better at Imola."

And if you check out this image, you'll get an idea of why his engine may not have been putting out the power it should be. Any technical wizards want to guess at what that is being chewed up and fired out of his 68mm Termignonis?
