Tardozzi ousted from BMW?

Unconfirmed reports claim WSB team manager has been sacked from German squad

REPORTS IN THIS morning's European press have claimed BMW World Superbike team manager Davide Tardozzi has been given the sack by the BMW WSB squad.

German publication Speedweek claims Tardozzi, one of the most successful team managers in the WSB paddock, has been handed his cards by BMW, despite an upturn in the team's performance this year.

It's also believed Tardozzi has been banned from the BMW garage for the final round of World Superbikes, which takes place this weekend at Magny-Cours.

Tardozzi joined BMW at the start of 2010, following an illustrious career with the Ducati factory World Superbike team.

Further rumours suggest Tardozzi has been linked to Sterilgarda Yamaha to manage Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty, to replace the outgoing Massimo Merigalli, who is to manage one of the Fiat Yamaha riders in  the company's MotoGP squad.

To compound matters, it's also believed the non-German crew members are threatening to strike at Magny Cours, amidst rumours that they too will face the axe at the end of the season.

Yesterday the BMW WSB team announced British ace Leon Haslam would has signed to race the company's S1000RR racer in the squad from 2011.
