SCOOP: Camier to partner Byrne in second Aprilia team

Old team mates back together for 2010 riding RSV4 racer

CURRENT AND FORMER British Superbike Champions Leon Camier and Shane Byrne are to head-up a second two-man Aprilia World Superbike squad in next year's championship - that's the latest news from Visordown's WSB insider.

Camier, who raced the Aprilia RSV4 at Magny Cours for the first time this weekend, failed to score points on the V4 superbike after his machine broke down in both races. The Airwaves Yamaha rider showed promising potential, posting the fourth quickest time in Sunday morning warm-up.

Byrne, who currently lies ninth is the 2009 WSB championship standings, has previous history with Aprillia, having partnered Jeremy McWilliams in their MotoGP squad in 2004.

It's not the first time the British pair have been team-mates; Camier rode alongside Byrne in the 2008 Airwaves Ducati squad.

Aprilia are to retain the services of Max Biaggi for 2010. It's unclear whether Shinya Nakano will keep his place within the team; Visordown's insider says the team are looking for a replacement.
