Guintoli to World Superbikes in 2010

Fast Frenchman to partner Leon Haslam on GSX-R1000

BRITISH SUPERBIKE star and former MotoGP racer Sylvain Guintoli will join Suzuki WSB squad in 2010 as a replacement for Max Neukirchner.

The Frenchman will partner Leon Haslam in the 2010 squad; Visordown exclusively revealed Haslam would be joining Suzuki for 2010 over a fortnight ago.

Guintoli's departure leaves a vacant space within the British Superbike squad; last month Visordown exclusively revealed that Yukio Kagayama will be making a return to the British Superbike paddock for Suzuki; team boss Jack Valentine must now find another rider to partner Kagayama for 2010. Paddock rumours point strongly towards Tommy Hill taking the spare seat.

"Sylvain already knows about the Suzuki GSX-R and Pirelli tyres and his professionalism and motivation for this new challenge are positive factors for us to start working together straight away," said team manager Francis Batta.

"We at Team Suzuki Alstare are also very happy to welcome a British rider. The Suzuki UK distributor has always given great support to Team Suzuki Alstare and all of us are delighted to have signed Leon Haslam for the 2010 World Superbike Championship."
