Guintoli heads Aprilia dominance of WSBK Sepang day one

Frenchman leads 1-2-3 for Aprilia

APRILIA dominated the opening day of practice at the Sepang WSBK round in Malaysia, with RSV4 riders in first, second and third place on the timesheets.

Frenchman Sylvain Guintoli, for Aprilia Racing, led with a 2’05.096 lap of the regular MotoGP circuit, putting team mate Marco Melandri in second place on the timesheets.

Red Devils Roma Aprilia’s Toni Elias was third with 2’05.222.

Ducati’s Davide Giugliano was fourth and Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes fifth. Championship leader Sykes was one-tenth of a second behind Melandri with a 2’05.283 lap, in what is WSBK’s first visit to the Malaysian circuit.
