KAWASAKI will replace Joan Lascorz at Monza this weekend with former 125GP race winner Sergio Gadea.

Lascorz was injured in a serious accident in testing at Imola last month, and as he makes further progress in a Barcelona hospital he will be substituted at Monza by Gadea. But there has been no word whether his countryman will replace him for the rest of the 2012 season.

Gadea will be making not only his Superbike debut at Monza, but it will be the Spaniard's first time at Monza. He said: "This is a great challenge for me and I am very happy about it. I want to thank Kawasaki for the confidence they have had in me this weekend. I have never seen Monza before - only on the Playstation - and I was up until 1:30am this morning playing it. I have also done many laps on the scooter just to be sure of the circuit layout for the first practice session on Friday."
