Biaggi: "More to come from RSV4"

Roman Emperor in high spirits for next weekend's Imola WSB round

MAX BIAGGI says he's feeling confident of a podium at next weekend's Imola round of the World Superbike championship and reckons there's more to come from his RSV4 racer.

The four-time world 250cc GP champion managed a fourth and fifth last time on out the RSV4 during the Nurburgring WSB round.

With rumours hot in the WSB paddock right now that Sterilgarda is about to pull its sponsorship from the Ducati team currently employing former BSB Champion Shane Byrne in favour of backing the Aprilia's next year (further underlined by the news broken exclusively on yesterday that Ben Spies was leaving the Sterilgarda Yamaha team to go to MotoGP Tech 3), the Italians are looking for a strong finish to their debut year with the four cylinder Aprilia.

Biaggi said: "At some circuits we go better and at others we still need to work to improve. Our RSV4 bike is not yet at its maximum potential seeing as we just started this year. That's normal. But I'm feeling very confident!

"Up until now we have achieved much more than we thought we would, so in Aprilia there's a lot of satisfaction both for the team and the rider. The difficult part will be next year when Gigi Dall'Igna and his group of engineers will have to make a big step forward performance-wise for our RSV4 so that we can fight for the title win right from the start."
