Scott Redding switches teams for MotoGP 2015

Brit to ride a Factory class Honda with Marc VDS

SCOTT Redding will ride for Marc VDS when the team steps up to MotoGP for 2015, it has been confirmed.

The 21-year-old Englishman will ride a Factory class RC213V after Marc VDS signed a three-year deal taking over the Gresini team’s association with Honda.

Redding had been due to move from an Open to Factory class machine within Gresini but the Italian team is ending its association with Honda and confirmed on Friday it would become the official squad of Aprilia.

The news of Redding's switch was announced last night on Twitter by the Marc VDS team, which is currently first and second in Moto2 standings.

The Belgian team Tweeted: ‘Marc VDS will move to MotoGP in 2015, with Scott Redding returning to the Marc VDS Racing family. We look forward to welcoming him back!’

Redding previously raced with Marc VDS for four Moto2 seasons. The team's manager, Marc Bartholemy, is also Redding's personal manager.

Redding came second to Pol Espargaro in Moto2 last year and has proved competitive in his debut MotoGP season on an underpowered RCV1000R.
