Rossi: "Stoner and Lorenzo are sharks"

MotoGP World Champion speaks out on arch rivals

REIGNING MOTOGP World Champion Valentino Rossi has likened his main rivals for this year's championship as 'sharks'.

The Italian, speaking after his disappointing fourth place at the Portuguese Grand Prix, used the term as a compliment his main rivals, rather than a derogatory comment about the pair. Rossi likened the duo to a pair of sharks circling for the kill; the Italian seems to be under no illusion that he must give nothing less than 100 per cent for the remainder of the season:

"In this case, Stoner and Lorenzo are the sharks and they look at me with a little bit of blood flowing and maybe they thought, 'OK, now is the time'.

"If I am not strong, I know that Casey and Jorge will eat me in one bite," Rossi said.

With just three races left in this year's championship, Rossi holds an 18-point lead over Lorenzo.

The next round of the championship takes place Down Under, at the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island.
