Roger Lee Hayden to replace de Puniet at LCR

Brother of 2006 MotoGP champ offered stand-in ride at LCR Honda

ROGER LEE HAYDEN is to join his brother Nicky in MotoGP after being offered the stand-in seat at LCR Honda for next weekend's US GP at Laguna Seca.

The 27-year-old American will replace injured Randy de Puniet after the Frenchman broke his lower left leg in a crash during last weekend's MotoGP action from the Sachsenring, reports Autosport.

Hayden made his MotoGP debut in 2007, finishing in 10th position with the now-defunct Kawasaki MotoGP squad.

Roger Lee Hayden: “First of all I want to wish Randy a speedy recovery. It’s never nice to see another rider on the sidelines due to injury. I'm very happy that LCR has choice me to fill in for Randy this weekend at Laguna Seca. It is a track I like a lot and I hope to do a good job for the Team and for all the American fans. I want to thank team Pedercini for giving me the ok, and everyone else involved to make this great opportunity happening.”
