MotoGP 2015: championship standings after Silverstone

Marquez's chances almost over with six rounds to go

YOUNG spaniard Marc Marquez has almost ended his chances of defending his MotoGP title after crashing out of the British Grand Prix.

It was Valentino Rossi who took the chequered flag first at Silverstone, giving himself a 12-point lead over his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo. Marquez is 77 points adrift of Rossi with only six races remaining of the 2015 MotoGP World Championship.

The next round will be at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on September 11-13.
