Marco Simoncelli succumbs to injuries

Malaysian MotoGP Cancelled

Marco Simoncelli has died after injuries sustained in a crash on lap two of the Malaysian MotoGP at Sepang.

The race was immediately red flagged when Honda rider Simoncelli fell at turn 11 and was hit by Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi as he slid across the track. The 24-year-old’s helmet was knocked off in the accident.

Edwards also fell with initial reports of a suspected dislocated shoulder. Rossi stayed on and was able to return to the pits.
