Does Casey Stoner want to retire?

Rumours in Spain say the reigning champion is looking for a quiet life with the family

ACCORDING to Solo Moto Casey Stoner is considering retirement.

Stoner, who recently became a father, is tired of the pace of life during the MotoGP season and feels like a prisoner in Europe. Instead the two-time MotoGP champion wants to return home to Australia to live a quiet life with his family.

Honda are eager for Stoner to sign a new contract and offered him a two year extension, but he has said he would prefer a one year deal - which has started the speculation the 26-year-old wants to retire.

In an interview with GPOne, Livio Suppo has said that they are giving Stoner some space before beginning formal negotiations but if the Australian does not sign then HRC would begin pursuing Jorge Lorenzo, as the Spaniard is one of the fastest riders in the world.
