BBC name new provider in three-year MotoGP deal

Century TV awarded prestigious racing series for 2011

BBC SPORT has announced a new three-year deal with Century TV to provide coverage of the MotoGP World Championship from 2011.

Coverage will be provided by the Irish-based provider when the 2011 season kicks off in Qatar on March 20th and finishes in Valencia, Spain, in early November.

Visordown asked Rohan Browning, Managing Director, Century TV, what the company planned to bring to the mix in 2011: "We're hoping to give a fresh look to the production of the show. We're an independent company looking to attract as many viewers as we can."

When asked about the BBC's MotoGP commentary team, Mr Browning said: "The team's still undecided for 2011. The BBC has the final word on that one."

Browning, a former TV producer for the World Superbike series, also said:

"These are very exciting times for Century TV and as our production base continues to grow with our recent expansion into Northern Ireland, it is high profile projects such as the BBC MotoGP that will help to underpin and support this process."
