NICKY HAYDEN'S a "second tier rider" that "lacks the aggression and skills needed to succeed" according to former 500cc World Champion Wayne Gardner.
The Australian, who's offered some pretty forthright views on the world of MotoGP over the last few months, claims we've seen the best of Hayden and that his results "aren't going to get any better."
"He's a second tier rider," said Gardner. "Always has been and always will be."
Harsh words for the American, who currently lies sixth in the 2010 championship standings with 89 points.
Offering a morsel of praise, followed by another left hook, Gardner continues:
"He (Hayden) puts the hard work in, but I just think he lacks the aggression and skills to really succeed. He just lacks the last two or three percent that guys like Stoner and Vale have got."
