Eugene Laverty will make his test debut with Team Go Eleven and the new Ducati V4 R at Jerez this week as he looks to gauge “the potential of the bike” before making 2019 World Superbike championship targets.

The 32-year-old returned to the World Superbike podium last year with Milwaukee Aprilia, securing a pair of third places at Laguna Seca race two and Misano race one, but following Shaun Muir Racing’s call to switch to running the factory BMW squad for 2019 Laverty was left with an 11th-hour deal with Team Go Eleven Ducati.

“I’ve been counting down the days until my first ride on the new V4 Ducati and finally the day has arrived,” Laverty said on WorldSBK.com “I’m excited to try the bike for the first time but also to begin working with Team Go Eleven at the track

“My aim is to understand the potential of the bike and that will allow me to set a clear objective for the season ahead.”
