Haslam wins second Suzuka 8 Hour

Jonathan Rea's FCC TSR Honda team crashes out of lead again

BRITAIN'S Leon Haslam scored his second Suzuka 8 Hour victory with the MuSashi Honda team at the weekend after Jonathan Rea's FCC TSR Honda squad crashed out of the lead.

Rea helped secure a convincing lead following a delayed start due to rain but his teammate Kosuke Akiyoshi later crashed.

Despite a broken femur, Akiyoshi managed to ride the damaged bike back to the pits for his team to continue but the effort only helped the squad secure 40th place.

It's the second year in row the FCC TSR Honda team has crashed out of the lead.

Haslam and teammates Michael van der Mark and Takumi Takahashi took first place with Yoshimura Suzuki's Josh Waters, Takuya Tsuda and Randy de Puniet in second. Kagayama Suzuki's Nori Haga, Dominique Aegerter and Yukio Kagayama were third.

Meahwile Yoshimura Suzuki Legends' Nobu Aoki crashed on lap six, denying teammate Kevin Schwantz of riding a single lap.
