Seeley's Snetterton fireball

BSB star turns up the heat in Norfolk

BRITISH SUPERBIKE rider Alastair Seeley walked away from this dramatic crash at Snetterton today.

Seeley, who topped the opening free practice session at the fourth BSB round, only managed three laps in the second session before a spectacular crash at the fast Riches corner.

Seeley had fended off Ian Lowry in the opening session, but on the start of his fourth lap he carried too much speed into the corner, and as he fought to keep the Tyco Suzuki in line he drifted wide before crashing at around 100mph.

Seeley said: "Coming off last weekend we were full of confidence coming into this round; I had a good event here last year in Supersport and had a good pre-season test here.

"I braked a bit later and the bike started backing in, so I trailed the brake and then ran wide and then lost the front. I saw it in front of me making a fireball and just tried to stay clear, but I am ok it is just a shame that the boys now have so much work to do before tomorrow."

Seeley was able to walk away from the crash but the team are now working hard to rebuild the bike ready for tomorrow's final practice and qualifying sessions.
