Hill turns down Linfoot R6 ride

"I don't want to ride in a British Supersport series"

TOMMY HILL has said that he doesn’t want to ride Dan Linfoot’s Yamaha R6 in the British Supersport championship despite not having any other ride.

The former R6 Cup Champion and BSB rider split with the Althea Honda WSB squad a couple of weeks ago, a couple of days later Linfoot was sidelined for at least six weeks after high-siding himself out of Sear’s corner at Snetterton.

Because of his successful past, and the available ride, plus his time riding for Rob McElnea in the British Superbikes, many assumed that Hill was a shoe-in for the ride, but he said: “I’ve got no interest in riding a 600 again. I rode one and proved my pace in the World Supersport championship and don’t want to ride one in Britain again.

“I want to just stay on the Superbikes. I am keen to get out there and show what I can do.”

Hill appears to be a favourite for the vacant Worx Crescent Suzuki ride. Unless Michael Rutter can make good on his temporary rider status as replacement for Sylvain Guintoli and bag a win or a podium at Knockhill this coming weekend.
