BSB: Rutter confirmed at SMT Honda

Get the REAL facts about Rutter's switch to SMT - only on visordown.com

AS EXCLUSIVELY revealed by visordown.com earlier this week, Michael Rutter WILL be on the SMT Honda at Mallory Park this weekend, replacing Jason O'Halloran on the white Honda Fireblade.

It will be the first time that Rutter has ridden a Honda since he contested the Stobart Blade in 2006.

Last year Rutter won one of the two Mallory Park BSB rounds, the midlands track is his home circuit so Rutter will be looking for a good first finish for the impressive SMT Honda squad run by Robin Croft.

Rutter, who has spent the last three rounds riding for the Worx Crescent Suzuki since he parted company with the Rob Mac Racing Yamaha soon after the start of the year, said "It was a real last minute deal for this weekend and I have seen Robin around the paddock but I don't know the team, so it will be a new experience all round. The Honda has changed a lot since I last rode it, but that is the same with any bike at the start of a season as the development moves on so quickly. I am pleased to be back as Mallory Park is my home round; it is a short lap so you need to find the right setting but you get lots of laps in to try and get it right!"

O'Halloran is now testing for Althea Honda in the World Supersport Championship at Imola.
