BSB: Richards out for rest of season

A badly broken femur sustained in yesterday's qualifying crash puts BSB frontrunner out of action

HM PLANT HONDA rider Glen Richards is likely to be sidelined for the rest of the season, after breaking his right femur during qualifying at Knockhill, ahead of the sixth round of the 2009 British Superbike Championship.

The accident involved Richards and Relentless TAS Suzuki man Ian Lowry.

Speculation is already circulating the BSB paddock as to who will step-in for Richards; Visordown's BSB insider claims Tommy Hill, who recently split from Althea Honda in the World Superbike series, is the most likely candidate to replace the injured Australian.
