BSB 2015: championship standings after Thruxton

JOSH Brookes is now at the top of the championship standings after a perfect weekend at Thruxton which has now confirmed his place in the Showdown. 

Shane Byrne said he had a 'difficult weekend', but still remains second in the championship also confirming his Showdown position for the 2015 season. James Ellison is currently in third, but has broken his wrist after crashing on oil from a blown engine. 

Stuart Easton remains in fourth despite not racing at Thruxton due to a broken leg sustained in the previous round, while the BMW duo of Michael Laverty and Tommy Bridewell sit in fifth and sixth respectively. 

John Hopkins made his return to British Superbikes once again and is currently down in 25th with 10 points. 

The next round is at Cadwell Park at the end of August.
