New picture of 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000

Spy shot reveals new front fairing and twin headlights

KAWASAKI'S 2015 Versys 1000 has been spotted during an official photo shoot on the Transalpina road in Romania.

The photo, taken by motorcycle website Pemotoare, shows the model has been given a reworked front fairing with a new screen and twin headlights.

A spy shot revealed on Visordown last week showed further restyling with new bodywork. It's also thought to have received technical updates.

Last year’s tweaks to the Z1000 and Z1000SX – both closely related to the Versys 1000 – are likely to have been carried across, with alterations to the power delivery and traction control settings as well as improved suspension.

Styling changes are almost certain to be shared by the Versys 650 to maintain a family resemblance.

The clue comes from the Kawasaki's Japanese website, where most of the ‘unchanged’ 2015 models have already been revealed, making it easy to guess which bikes will get updates by looking for the ones that haven’t yet been shown in 2015 form. The Versys 1000 and 650 both fall into that category.

Both updated bikes are expected to be unveiled at the Intermot Cologne motorcycle show at the end of this month.
