Milan show: Rieju RS3 125

Things are looking good for learners

Rieju used the Milan show to launch their new 125 sports bike, the RS3.

The Spanish manufacturer may have its roots firmly in dirt bikes but the RS3 delivers some pretty impressive sports bike spec for just £3,300 - nearly £700 less than Yamaha's best selling YZF125.

The Yamaha comparisons don't stop there. The Rieju RS3 uses exactly the same liquid cooled four-stroke, four-valve motor made by Minarelli/Yamaha in Italy. However, running on a carburettor rather than fuel injection, the Rieju manages to extract a few more horses. Claimed output is 15bhp.

With sixty dealers in the UK, Rieju are hoping for Yamaha-style chart topping sales success with the new RS3.
