Italy: Honda VFR1200F to cost 15,500 Euros

Honda's new V4 heavyweight gets beefy price tag to match

HONDA Italy has announced the 2010 VFR1200F will go on sale at 15.500 Euros (£13,850).

The news will come as a shock to many potential buyers looking to splash out the new V4 sports tourer; rumour had suggested the price of the new machine would be closer to 12,000 Euros (£10,800). It's believed the heady price tag is for the standard model only and not the all-singing 'look Ma, no clutch' automatic version. We reckon Honda will be looking for at least another £1,500 for that bad boy.

Visordown tested the new-generation V4 at the bike's World Press Launch in Japan, earlier this month. Our man gave the new machine a ripping report, after he rogered the 250kg beast for all it was worth around Sugo test track. Read his report here.

Next week, Visordown will be testing the 160bhp machine on Honda's European launch. The itinerary involves no track tests, but plenty of road riding, so keep your eyes peeled for real-world report next week.

We'll be able to give you a firm update on the bike's UK retail price from the launch, too.
