Honda EV-neo available for lease from December

Battery powered bike to be aimed at Japanese business market

HONDA has announced it is to lease, rather than sell, the company's new EV-neo electric motorcycle to business customers in Japan from December this year.

"We are targeting corporate and individual customers running delivery services in the domestic market," the company said in a statement.

The EV-neo, the company's second electric motorcycle, has a cruising range of 30 kilometres (19 miles) on a single charge.

"The motorcycle is a more nimble business, and it allows us to try out more things," said Honda General Manager Toshiyuki Inuma.

Rival motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha is also planning an electric motorcycle due for release later this year. Details have not yet been announced.
