Honda CB300F confirmed

Naked version of CBR300R here soon

THE endlessly-leaked naked version of Honda’s CBR300R is definitely set to appear as part of the firm’s 2015 line-up having been named on emissions certification documents.

The machine appears, with the expected “CB300F” title on the California Air Research Board documents alongside the CBR300R and CBR300RA (the ABS-equipped version of the R). As you’d expect, the engine is identical to the fully-faired machine, at 286cc and with identical emissions performance to the CBR300R. That means it will make an identical 30.4bhp and 19.8lbft. Weight-wise, it’s also going to be virtually identical, although the CARB document’s ‘EIM’ figure of 260kg is actually its ‘equivalent inertial mass’ – a figure related to momentum rather than its simple weight (or ‘gravitational mass.’)

With the CBR300R itself having been pushed back to being a 2015 model machine rather than a 2014 model as originally planned, it’s likely that the naked version will be available shortly after the faired bike later this year.

Leaked patent images earlier this year already revealed the styling of the bike.
