Mobile phone pic purports to show new V4 Desmosedici Stradale

DUCATI’S due to reveal the V4 engine of its forthcoming Desmosedici Stradale this Thursday, but in the meantime this mobile phone picture purporting to show the whole bike has emerged.

It may look like a Panigale at first glance, but closer inspection reveals changes to the bodywork, with the fairing now extending all the way to the top of the tank in what looks like a single unit.

The headlight recesses appear to have grown, likely incorporating air ducts which make use of that new fairing shape.

The visible engine casing is also different.

It’s unclear where the picture was taken, although some reports suggest it’s likely to have been at Misano during a testing session, where the bike was also caught on film by Belgian bike site MaxxMoto.

A road-going V4 to replace the Panigale was confirmed by Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicli in January.

The Italian manufacturer last week confirmed that the engine would be unveiled this Thursday at the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit in Rimini, Italy, ahead of this weekend's MotoGP round there.

Im sure its a rocket ship but you cant help thinking Honda vfr750.
Being as ducati stole from the Honda spam tin thing for its 916 you wonder why
the Japanese are accused of having no imagination.

"the fairing now extending all the way to the top of the petrol tank in what looks like a single unit"
Say, do you suppose that's a cover for RAM air ducts? Pretty obvious, really.
It's not an attractive machine, and I don't know who decided that these diminutive pointy seat units look good. They're wretched, IMHO, as well as making the pillion provision on an RGV250 look considerate.
