Ducati unveil 2010 Hypermotard 1100 Evo

Seven kilo drop in weight and 5bhp power boost for Ducati's aggressive naked

VISORDOWN'S MAN at this year's Milan Motorcycle Show has fired back images of Ducati's new Hypermotard 1100 Evo and Evo SP.

With a dry weight of 172kg, the Evo boasts 7kg less weight than the old Hypermotard - 5kg have been saved by shaving weight from the engine alone. The latest motor has new cams, an 848-style crank from the company's fully-faired superbike, an increase in compression over the ild model - up from 10.7:1 to 11.3:1 - and tweaked inlet and exhaust ports. This adds up to a boost in power of a claimed 5bhp over the 2009 machine.

The SP version weighs 171kg, comes with sports Ohlins suspension, Termignoni exhausts, carbon panels and 30mm more ground clearance thanks in part to longer forks,
