Ducati Scrambler coming?

Rumour gathers pace

IT’S one of those things that we’ve heard over and over again – that Ducati is to create a new ‘Scrambler’ model with a retro vibe – but the story is getting some momentum now and might even come true.

Two of America’s top magazines, Cycle World and Motorcyclist are reporting on the forthcoming bike, both agreeing that it’s likely to use a V-twin engine rather than a single.

It seems that Ducati has now applied for a trademark on the name “Ducati Scrambler” and is looking at using it on a wide range of goods as well as a new motorcycle.

The idea of a new scrambler dates back several years, back to the days when Pierre Terblache was Ducati’s design chief and expressed an interest in creating a new scrambler at around the same time as the now-deceased SportClassic line was revealed.
