Voxan future still uncertain

French motorcycle manufacturer in limbo as potential buyer is set to appeal court's decision

THE FUTURE of French motorcycle manufacturer Voxan remains uncertain, despite serious interest from a potential buyer.

A French court ruled yesterday the company is to be put into liquidation and all of its assets sold at auction.

However, Thierry Cazenabe, the boss of potential buyer Sodemo, has said he is willing to fight on to secure the Voxan name: "The liquidators seek only to sell Voxan through an auction, rather than focus on the people who want to build something. There are others who have a vision other than one of a world run by crass mercantile banks and liquidators. I'm going to appeal the decision court because I believe that the liquidators have not done their job. I've put 8 months energy into this project and I'm angry because it shows how difficult it is to get something done in France. "

An appeal is expected within the next eight days.
