Kawasaki to boost production for home market by 25 per cent

Japanese manufacturer to build more bikes, despite slow-moving market

KAWASAKI JAPAN is to increase its domestic production of motorcycles to 94,000 units in fiscal 2010, up 25% on last year, it has been reported.

Despite the decline in demand for motorcycles in Japan, the company is to boost output at its Akashi works - the plant manufactured just 75,000 motorcycles in fiscal 2009 — the lowest annual output since 1970.
