HERO buys into Erik Buell Racing

$25 million investment agreed

THE relationship between the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer Hero and Eric Buell Racing has just got a little more serious.

Whilst Visordown reported that Hero would be supporting EBR over a year ago, Erik Buell has recently sold a large stake of the company to the Indian company.

Having learnt his lesson from his Harley-Davidson nightmare, Erik Buell will still own the majority of the company he founded but only by a fraction. Hero now own 49.2% of EBR, with Eric Buell stating that he's not planning to give up any more equity in the near future.

Hero have stumped up $15 million of investment, with a further $10 million due in nine months time. This allows EBR to invest in their sales and manufacturing capabilities whilst offering Hero research and design services, along with additional credibility in the US.
