Electric bike guru killed in road smash

Matthew Dieckmann, 29, dies riding the bikes he lived for

AN AMERICAN electric bike guru who was working with a business in India to promote zero emission motorcycles has died in a motorcycle crash in California.

Matthew Dieckmann, 29, was riding an electric motorcycle earlier this week when he was involved in a collision with a Toyota Prius, driven by a 71-year-old pensioner.

Dieckmann hit the car's passenger side and died at the scene.

The driver was unhurt.

Dieckmann was the founder of Santa Rosa-based Electric Race Bikes.
