Yamaha MT-03 being evaluated for Europe

Is the Yamaha MT-03 coming to a dealer near you?

YAMAHA is considering bringing the new MT-03 to Europe, a spokesman for the firm has confirmed to Visordown.

EARLIER this week we reported that Yamaha had confirmed the existence of the MT-03. The bike appears on Yamaha's Japanese website, although it hasn't been confirmed as being destined for Europe.

An official spokesman for Yamaha UK has told Visordown that Yamaha Motor Europe is still 'positively evaluating' the MT-03 for the European market.

The MT-03 is a larger capacity version of the MT-25, which is on sale in some Asian markets. It shares its 320cc parallel-twin engine with the YZF-R3 and is effectively a naked version of the R3.

Although Yamaha hasn't yet said the MT-03 will be part of its European lineup, we think it's likely it will be at the Eicma show in November before going on sale here next year.
