Free ‘taster sessions’ on trials and motocross courses at NEC bike show

FREE goes at off-road and trials riding are being offered at the NEC motorcycle show next month.

Motorcycle Live 2013 will feature an indoor motocross circuit where visitors can have a 20-minute go on a Yamaha with tuition from Barry Johnson, former Motocross GP rider and chief instructor for the Yamaha Off-Road Experience.

The Yamaha Off-Road Experience uses TT-R125s and 230s and WR250Rs, 250Fs and 450Fs.

Visitors can also have a 15-minute go on a trials bike in another area of the show with tuition from an ACU-certified instructor.

Both features will cater for all levels of experience.

To try off-roading, you must be aged at least 14 and have basic clutch control. For trials, you must be at least 16 and hold a motorcycle licence or ACU competition licence.

Under-18s must be accompanied by a guardian .

Places will be offered on a first come, first served basis, with bookings taken on the day.

Motorcycle Live runs from November 23 to December 1 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. Advanced tickets cost £17 for adults.
