Indonesian Police launch a major offensive against illegal street racing

POLICE IN Jakarta, Indonesia, have pulled a total of 101 motorcyclists in an operation against illegal motorcycle road races.

All the 101 racers nicked were given speeding tickets, while four motorcycles were confiscated because the riders were unable to show the police the necessary legal documentation.

During the Muslim fasting month of Ramadhan, the police launched nightly operations against illegal motorbike racers in the capital city.

The operation target is centred around places of worship.
