Plot your favourite biking route to win 1 year's free bike insurance and more

Know a great riding route?

EXPRESS Insurance is offering riders the chance to win one year's free bike insurance and more in it's latest competition.

All you need to do is head to their website, plot your favourite route, annotate it with a few points of interest and tell Express Insurance Services why you love it.

The idea is to create a definitive guide to motorcycling in the UK, where a new interactive map will be created to chart the UK’s best routes, biker-friendly businesses, garages and themed events.

The routes will be judged by motorcycle legend Steve Parrish himself, who’ll pick a winning route from seven UK regions. These runners up will not only win £50 Ministry of Bikes vouchers, but also a pair of weekend tickets to Goodwood Revival, spending 2 hours with Steve Parrish himself. He’ll take you on a tour of the site, introducing you to some famous faces of UK motoring and a presentation of the bike he’ll be racing in the Barry Sheene memorial event.

The winning routes will then be put into an interactive map on the Express Insurance Services website, and a poll will determine the best overall route in the UK. If it turns out to be your route, you’ll win a year’s free bike insurance on top of all the other aforementioned prizes.

The competition, which ends on March 29, 2015, has been launched to celebrate last year's resurgence in motorcycle riding. According to year-end figures provided by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA), new motorcycle registration showed sales for 2014 were up 10% on 2013.

Parrish said: 'I am really excited about this competition as I’ve spent my life visiting events, tracks and races all around the UK; however, I’ve never really taken the time to properly explore our beautiful country.

'Anytime I have been on a great biking road with fantastic views I’m usually in too much of a hurry to enjoy it!

'Therefore I am hoping to have a chance to find that perfect road trip through our competition entries - we can then pass these onto the rest of the biking world for them to enjoy too!'
