THE founder of the Mash Motorcycles brand has passed. It is reported that he was working on a racing car at the time of his death, although this is not confirmed.

Fourgeaud was a racer, motorcycle fan, and all around petrol head, who opened his first motorcycle dealership at just 22-years-old. He also raced avidly, competing at national level in France from the age of 17. Probably his most worldly famous move though was founding Mash Motorcycles in 2007, something that saw him running the business, designing the bikes and overseeing their construction over in China.

Aside from Mash, Fourgeaud also took the reigns at SIMA (Société d'Importation de Motos et d'Accessoires) which imported various motorcycle models and also pedal assisted e-bicycles to France.

Soymotero reports that Fourgeaud passed away after working on a racing car, when the tyre of the vehicle exploded during inflation. This report is not confirmed, although the official SIMA website does mention his ‘brutal’ passing.

The statement reads:

‘President of the Sima (Société d'Importation de Motos et d'Accessoires) since 2006 and creator of Mash Motorcycles in 2012, Frédéric brutally left us on Saturday in the late afternoon following a mechanical accident in his workshop.’

‘We extend our deepest condolences to his sons, Jules and Hugues, his family, his loved ones and all the people who were able to cross the path of this passionate and true man.’

Visordown extends its deepest sympathies to Fourgeaud’s family and friends, and the wider family of Mash Motorcycles riders, staff, and dealers.
